Dawn Edwards Artist Statement:
When I discovered felt-making seven years ago, I truly could not have imagined the marvelous journey that would unfold before me. The joys in creating, dreaming, thinking, making, allow me to feel marvelously blessed. I find such joy in the alchemy of felt-making. In fact, it never ceases to amaze me that from a few ounces of wool, a little soap and water, and my hands, a thing of beauty can be created. I love to create, design and handcraft colorful, wearable felt art. Each unique piece is hand-felted and formed using a variety of methods, many dating back to ancient days, others using much more modern techniques, but all producing what I hope that you will find to be beautiful results.
I live and work from my home studio in Plainwell, Michigan, and sell my felt creations under the name of Felt So Right. I am a member of the International Feltmakers Association, Surface Design Association, Handweavers Guild of America, Weaver’s Guild of Kalamazoo, and the Textile Center in Minneapolis.
